Embark on an adventure of a lifetime with the Ovir Pass and Tirich Mir Trek. This trek takes you through the stunning Hindukush mountain range, with its snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and picturesque valleys. The journey starts from the charming village of Booni and takes you through remote villages and lush green forests. The highlight of the trek is crossing the challenging Ovir Pass, which sits at an altitude of 4,659 meters. From the pass, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including the majestic Tirich Mir, which is the highest peak in the Hindukush range. The trek requires a high level of fitness and endurance, as you’ll be trekking at high altitudes and across challenging terrain. However, the stunning beauty of the landscape makes it all worth it. The Ovir Pass and Tirich Mir Trek is a must-do for any adventure enthusiast seeking to experience the wonders of nature.
The first leg of the journey is to Ovir Pass. This well-known and convenient hike traverses a ridgetop pass along the powerful Tirich Mir’s southern flanks, stopping in at welcoming communities along the way. A quick and well-liked trip that provides breathtaking up-close views of the southern sides of the Tirich Mir range is the crossing of the Ovir Ann (4338m). This walk can be completed in either way, going from Ojhor, located south-west of Tirich Mir, to Ovir, located south-east of Tirich Mir.
After that, we go up Tirich Mir, the highest peak in the Hindu Kush, which towers above 20 other stunning 7000-meter summits and a wide wilderness of glaciers, taking us deep into the heart of the high Hindu Kush. The Tirich Valley, a long, western branch of the Turikho Valley, goes to the foot of Noshaq, Istor-o-Nal, and Tirich Mir, the highest peaks in the Hindu Kush. The lower Tirich Glacier is crossed on the well-known trip to Tirich Mir Base Camp. This walk, which is similar to the Baltoro Glacier hike but considerably shorter and easier, is a treat for admirers of massive mountains and powerful glaciers. The trip is combined with a tour of Kalash Valley’s cultural attractions. Adding an extra day to your vacation to the Hunza Valley will be beneficial if time is not an issue.
